Required Hardware
- Elo X-Series or E-Series All-in-One Touchcomputer with Windows Expansion Module and cash drawer port
- Compatible cash drawer (example: APG VB320 BL 1616)
- Cash drawer cable with Epson pinout (example: APG CD-101B)
Required Software
- Elo UPOS Cash Drawer Driver (attached to this article)
- Microsoft POS for .NET v1.14

Install the Elo UPOS Cash Drawer Driver
- Connect the cash drawer to the Elo cash drawer port using a compatible Epson-pinout cash drawer cable.
- Extract the Elo UPOS Cash Drawer Driver attached to this article.
- Open the appropriate installation folder for your operating system (32-bit or 64-bit).
- Run Setup.exe.
- Complete the installation wizard:
- Select Next.
- Select OPOS.
- Select the appropriate Elo system.
- Continue selecting Next to accept the default installation settings.
- Select Close when the installation completes.

The Elo UPOS driver installs the logical device names that will be used by Microsoft POS for .NET during testing.

Install Microsoft POS for .NET
- Install Microsoft POS for .NET v1.14.
- Complete the installation wizard using the default settings.
- When prompted, install both the Runtime Components and the SDK by selecting Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive.
- Select Install.
- When the installation completes, select Finish.
Test the Cash Drawer
- Open: Start → Microsoft POS for .NET → POS for .NET SDK Samples
- Open the Sample Application folder.
- Launch TestApp.exe.
- Expand the Cash Drawer section.
- Select the appropriate Elo cash drawer logical device (for example, Elo E-Series 1st).
- Select the following commands in order:
- Open
- Claim
- Enable Device (DeviceEnabled)
- OpenDrawer
- The cash drawer should open and the Microsoft POS Tester status window should report a successful operation.
⚠ Troubleshooting
If the cash drawer does not open:
- Verify the cash drawer uses an Epson-compatible pinout.
- Confirm the Elo UPOS Cash Drawer Driver installed successfully.
- Verify the correct logical device name is selected within Microsoft POS Tester.
- Ensure Microsoft POS for .NET Runtime Components and SDK are both installed.
- Confirm the cash drawer cable and drawer are functioning properly.

The Microsoft POS Tester utility verifies communication between the operating system, Elo UPOS driver, Windows Expansion Module, and cash drawer. If the drawer opens successfully using TestApp, any remaining issues are likely related to the POS application rather than the hardware or driver.
