This article provides the MSR Key Injection procedure for I-Series 2.0 devices
MSR Key Change and Encryption can be accomplished using the built-in Peripheral Test Application. Make sure to have all required Magtek credentials* before proceeding with Key Injection – customer code, user ID, and password.
*Credentials are supplied by your payment processor - Elo does not have these credentials.
Steps
1. On the device, access the Control Panel by pressing the physical and buttons at the same time.
- These buttons are located behind the monitor
2. When prompted, enter the default password “1elo” (no quotes)
- Note: for registered devices, check with your EloView Admin (or the EloView web portal) for the current Control Panel password
3. In the “Apps” area, launch the “Peripheral Test App” application
4. In the “MSR” area, use the slider to enable the MSR
a. Ensure MSR is in "HID" mode
5. On the “Enter Magtek Credentials” screen, enter all required credentials information and click Enter
a. Customer Code
b. User ID
c. Password
6. On the “Magtek Configuration” screen, select the appropriate KSID and change the security level to “3”
NOTE: security level changes are permanent and cannot be undone.
a. When done click “CHANGE”
