This article includes information below that describes the various connections on Elo monitors.
Power Connection
This provides power for the monitor and touchscreen. There are two basic types: an AC cord and a DC power supply. Some monitors have one or the other, some monitors have both. If both are provided, choose only one.
Below shows different types of AC and DC connections.
Video Connection
This provides the "picture" on the display. There are various types of video connections: HDMI, DVI, VGA, DisplayPort. If more than one video connection is on the monitor, only use one of them.
NOTE: The blue VGA connector has three rows of pins; it is a video connector, not a serial connector.
Touch Connection
This provides a connection for the touch part of the monitor. There are three basic types: USB, USB-C, and serial. If the monitor has more than one touch connection, choose only one.
NOTE: The blue-green serial connector looks similar to the blue VGA connector, but it has only 2 rows of pins
Speaker Connection (Optional)
This provides a connection for computer audio to be played through the monitor speakers. Some touchmonitors do not include speakers.
Wired OSD Remote
Some monitors (mainly open frame and IDS monitors) have wired OSD remotes to control the onscreen display. There are two types, the older P/S 2 style, and the newer RJ45 style.
