This article explains what to do when the touch stops working after updating the OS
Below are some troubleshooting steps to correct this issue.
1. The number one reason we see this issue is after an upgrade customers or IT departments like to place a sticker or ID tag on the black border of the touch glass. This will cause the touch to completely stop working or only work in certain areas of the screen. Nothing can make contact with the touch glass - even in the black border area around the edges of the glass. If anything is sticking to the glass such as: stickers, labels, asset tags, ID tags, tape, sticky notes, plastic cover sheets, etc. they must be removed immediately, the glass cleaned of any sticky residue, then (very important) remove the power cable from the outlet for 30-seconds, then reconnect power and try the touchscreen again. 2. In cases of upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 we sometimes see where Windows 10 caches some of the touchscreen driver files causing the touch to not work and/or the inability to install a new touch driver. You will see messages similar to this: "An Elo Touch Driver Already Exist, Please Remove." In these cases you will need to perform a manual driver removal of all Elo related files.
