This article explains how to install Touch Through Firmware on supported Elo I-Series 2.0 and 3.0 Android devices. Installing Touch Through Firmware enables the touchscreen to operate through a protective glass overlay while maintaining reliable touch performance.
This procedure applies to 15-inch and 22-inch Elo I-Series 2.0 and I-Series 3.0 Android devices only. It also explains how to restore the original factory touch firmware if needed.
⚠ Important
Touch Through Firmware is supported only on the following Elo Android devices:
- 15-inch I-Series 2.0
- 15-inch I-Series 3.0
- 22-inch I-Series 2.0
- 22-inch I-Series 3.0
10-inch I-Series devices are not supported.
Required Materials
- Supported 15-inch or 22-inch Elo I-Series 2.0 or 3.0 Android device
- MicroSD card
- Touch Through Firmware (update.xcfg)
- Elo Mxt Touch FW Update application (pre-installed on most devices)

Install Touch Through Firmware
- Copy the appropriate update.xcfg file to the root directory of a MicroSD card.
- Place the device into Android Home Mode .
- Insert the MicroSD card into the I-Series device.
- Open the Elo Mxt Touch FW Update application from the Android Apps screen.

Select UPDATE FROM SD CARD to install the Touch Through Firmware.
⚠ Important
Do not touch the touchscreen while the Touch Through Firmware is being installed. - Wait for the firmware installation to complete. The update typically takes only a few seconds. When finished, the application displays: Update finished!
Touch Through Firmware Specifications
After Touch Through Firmware has been installed, the touchscreen supports operation through a protective glass overlay within the following specifications.

Restore the Factory Touch Firmware
If Touch Through Firmware is no longer required, you can restore the original Elo factory touch firmware by repeating the installation procedure above using the appropriate factory firmware below.

If you need to switch between Touch Through Firmware and the factory firmware, simply repeat the installation procedure using the appropriate update.xcfg file. The firmware update only takes a few seconds to complete and does not require any additional configuration after installation.
