This article provides compatibility details and installation requirements for using Elo touchscreen monitors on macOS Version 12 (Monterey), including systems powered by Apple Silicon (M1) processors.
Driver Compatibility Overview
Touch functionality on macOS 12 Monterey (Intel and Apple Silicon M1) is supported via the UPDD V6 driver package. The UPDD V6 architecture provides touch driver and gesture support across macOS versions from Mac OS X 10.7 and above.
Installation & Security Permissions
When installing the touch driver on modern macOS releases, please review the official setup guides carefully:
- Follow the UPDD Quick Installation Guide for step-by-step driver setup instructions.
- Pay close attention to the System Extension Considerations. Beginning with macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and continuing in macOS 12+, Apple security policies require users to manually approve system kernel/system extensions under System Preferences > Security & Privacy during driver installation.
