This article explains how to install multiple touch monitors on one computer
Multiple touch monitors on a single Windows computer is a very common setup for Elo products. See below for details.
When multiple touch monitors are connected to a single computer, it's crucial to recognize that the Windows computer operating system supports only one mouse cursor. Consequently, only one cursor instance will function at any given time. This implies that the first touch monitor touched will exert control over the mouse cursor, resulting in the inability for two individuals to simultaneously interact with the screen and receive proper touch responses.
If you are using Elo's PCAP or IR technology touch monitors, these technologies are HID compliant and will operate directly from the operating system's HID support (Windows 7 and above) and no Elo touch driver is needed. For setup on these monitors, please see the Knowledge Article titled, Installing Multiple PCAP or IR Monitor Set Up Windows 7 and Newer .
If employing Elo's IntelliTouch or AccuTouch technology, it is typically necessary to utilize an Elo touch driver. Please refer to the instructions below for configuring multiple monitors on Windows 7 or later versions.
1. Connect all monitors to the computer (video cable and USB touch cable as well as power cable connected to outlet)
2. Download the latest touch driver
3. Unzip driver and follow prompts on screen to begin setup.
4. The last step in the setup is Calibration (or Alignment)
5. Touch the targets as they appear on the screen.
- When all targets have been touched on the first touch screen, the driver should then move the targets to the next touch screen. If this does not happen, or if you have a non-touch monitor connected and the targets appear on it, simply press the ESC key on your keyboard to move the targets to the next monitor.
- Repeat for each attached touch monitor until all have been calibrated.
