This article discusses SHA-2 support in the 7.0.0 driver
SHA-2, Secure Hash Algorithm, was developed as an irreversible hashing function and is widely used as a part of code-signing. Microsoft implemented this into their driver structure to help protect the security of the Windows operating system. Since April 2019, Microsoft requires that all Windows drivers support SHA-2 Code Signing. Elo implemented SHA-2 Code Signing into our Windows touch drivers beginning with Version 7.0.0
Since the addition of SHA-2, customers that run on Windows 7 will need to install special Microsoft KBs in order to support SHA-2 reporting in Elo driver version 7.0.0 and higher. Please refer to our Knowledge Article, "How to Implement SHA-2 Support for Windows 7 Driver Installation ."
