This article explains how to update the UEFI BIOS firmware on supported Elo I-Series 3 with Intel systems. It covers preparing a bootable USB flash drive, updating the BIOS firmware, and verifying that the update completed successfully.
⚠ Before You Begin
Before updating the BIOS firmware:
- Ensure the system remains connected to a reliable power source throughout the update.
- Do not power off or restart the system while the firmware update is in progress.
- Use a USB flash drive formatted as FAT32.
Interrupting a BIOS update may leave the system in an unusable state.
Required Materials
- Elo I-Series 3 with Intel®
- USB flash drive formatted as FAT32
- Latest BIOS firmware package

Prepare the USB Flash Drive
- Format a USB flash drive using the FAT32 file system.
- Extract the downloaded BIOS firmware package.
- Copy all BIOS firmware files to the root directory of the USB flash drive.
Enable Firmware Updates (If Required)
- Power on the system and press the Delete (DEL) key, or tap the SETUP icon in the upper-right corner of the touchscreen, to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
- Navigate to: Advanced → PCH-FW Configuration → Firmware Update Configuration
- If the setting is disabled, change Firmware Update Configuration to Enabled.
- Navigate to: Save & Exit → Save Changes and Reset Select Yes to reboot.
Install the BIOS Firmware
- Insert the prepared USB flash drive into the system.
- Restart the device and press the F11 key, or tap the BBS icon in the upper-right corner of the display, to open the Boot Menu.
- Select the USB flash drive listed as: UEFI: USB...
- If the USB flash drive was prepared correctly, you will be prompted to Press any key to begin the firmware update. Press Q to cancel if necessary.
- The BIOS update typically takes approximately five minutes. When the update completes successfully, a command prompt similar to the following appears: fs2:\>

Verify the BIOS Version
- Restart the system.
- Enter the BIOS Setup Utility by pressing the Delete (DEL) key or tapping the SETUP icon.
- Navigate to the Main tab and verify the BIOS Version matches the version you installed.
💡 Tip
If the system does not boot from the USB flash drive, verify that:
- The USB drive is formatted as FAT32.
- The firmware files were copied to the root directory of the drive.
- The USB device is selected as a UEFI boot device from the Boot Menu.
