This article explains a known display orientation issue that may occur on EloPOS Z30 Windows systems with Customer Facing Display (CFD) when the display mode is changed from Extended to Duplicate.
⚠️ Known Behavior
When display mode is set to Duplicate, the CFD may incorrectly rotate to portrait orientation, appear improperly scaled, and display black borders on the screen.

Symptoms
Customers may observe one or more of the following behaviors:
- CFD rotates into portrait orientation when displays are duplicated
- Display appears stretched or improperly scaled
- Black borders appear on the CFD
- Windows reports the CFD resolution incorrectly as 1200 x 1920 instead of 1920 x 1200
- Display orientation or resolution settings cannot be adjusted correctly while in duplicate mode
Affected Systems
- EloPOS Z30 Intel systems running Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Systems configured with an attached Customer Facing Display (CFD)
- Issue occurs specifically when display mode is set to Duplicate
Workaround
The issue can typically be resolved by temporarily changing the display orientation and then switching it back.

After applying the below steps, the CFD should function normally, including after reboot.

- Right-click on the Windows desktop and select Display settings
- Set the displays to Duplicate mode
- Change the display orientation to Portrait
- Then change the orientation back to Landscape
Once these steps are completed, the CFD should display correctly in duplicate mode.
