This article explains how to fix the Out of Range error message on Elo monitors
Out of Range is caused by either the video resolution or the video refresh rate being set to something the monitor cannot display.
- Refer to the Specifications section of the elotouch.com web page for your product to find supported resolutions and refresh rates (the refresh rate follows the @ sign).
How to fix
To correct the issue, you will need to be able to see a displayed image.
- Either boot the computer into Safe mode (reboot and tap the F8 key while the computer is booting) or connect a monitor that can display the current settings.
- Open the Display Settings (in the Windows Control Panel, or just search for Display or Resolution).
- Select the preferred resolution for your product - you may have to scroll down to find Resolution.
- If the resolution is already correct, look for Advanced Settings or Advanced Display Settings (not Advanced Scaling Settings) and click that.
- For Windows 10, find and click Display Adapter Properties.
- Click the Monitor tab and look for Refresh Rate (might be labeled Vertical Frequency).
- If the drop-down offers other frequencies, you can try each of them to see if one will display properly on your Elo product.
- In general the preferred refresh rate is 60 Hz.
If none of the above help or if the required settings are not available, update your computer's Display Adapter driver per the manufacturer's guidelines.
