How to Remove and Replace RAM Memory in Elo I-Series 1.0 for Windows

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for removing, upgrading, or replacing SO-DIMM RAM memory modules in Elo I-Series 1.0 for Windows All-in-One touchcomputers.

Required Tools & Materials

• Elo I-Series 1.0 for Windows Touchcomputer
• Clean, soft, anti-static flat protective working surface (foam mat or cloth)
• Small Phillips screwdriver (#1 or #2)
• ESD grounding wrist strap
• Compatible replacement/upgrade SO-DIMM RAM module(s)

Step-by-Step Replacement Procedure

1. Prepare Unit: Power down the I-Series system, disconnect the power supply and all peripheral cables, and place the unit display-face down onto a clean, flat, protective surface.

   

2. Remove Rear Cover: Using your fingers, pull upward on the two release tabs located at the bottom edge of the back housing cover, then push upward and forward to release and remove the plastic cover.

   

3. Remove Metal Shield Plate: Remove the two Phillips screws securing the internal metal memory access plate, then lift and remove the shield.

   

4. Install / Replace Memory:

   • To Remove: Gently push outward on the metal retaining clips on each side of the SO-DIMM slot until the RAM module pops up at a 30-degree angle, then pull the module out of the socket.
   • To Install: Align the module notch with the socket key, insert firmly at a 30-degree angle, and press down on the module until both side retention latches click into place.

   

5. Reassemble Device: Reinstall the metal shield plate with the two Phillips screws, snap the plastic rear cover back into place, reconnect cables, and power on the system.
