This article addresses self-repair or end-user repair of Elo products.
Occasionally, customers contact Elo Support requesting replacement touch sensors or other internal parts to repair their own devices.
Please note: Elo does not sell individual component parts or support any form of self-repair. Touch sensors are rarely available on the open market, and when found, they are often extremely expensive. Attempting a self-repair can easily cost $500 or more, compared to Elo’s standard flat-rate repair service, which typically ranges from $199 to $499 USD depending on screen size.
Self-repair will also void any existing warranty.
Even if your product is out of warranty, or the damage is not covered under warranty, you should still request a formal quote from Elo’s RMA department rather than attempting the repair yourself:
🔗 How do I perform an RMA?
If you still wish to pursue self-repair, be aware that you’ll need to fully disassemble the device, identify part numbers from ribbon cables or internal components, and search online (e.g., eBay, Alibaba). Elo cannot assist with identifying or sourcing parts for self-repair.
To summarize:
-
Self-repair is not recommended
-
It is typically more expensive
-
It voids any warranty
-
Elo does not provide parts or support for such efforts
For the best outcome, let Elo handle the repair.
