This article explains why an IDS monitor, such as the 3203L, keeps popping up saying the monitor will shut down in 5.4.3.2.1 seconds
If you are receiving a Power Off Message on an Elo IDS monitor that states "System will shut down in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Press Menu button to cancel shut down." There are two scenarios which may cause this.
Scenario 1: This may happen whenever you have an RJ45 remote connected to the monitor and are also trying to use the physical buttons on the back of the monitor. You can only use the remote if you have it connected.
Scenario 2: This message may also be caused if you accidentally connect an ethernet cable into the RJ45 OSD Remote port on the monitor. The RJ45 OSD Remote port on these units will accept a standard ethernet cable but it will cause the monitor to behave erratically if one is connected. Some customers may experience flashing on the screen in this scenario. Please disconnect the ethernet cable from the port to stop the pop-up message and erratic behavior.
