Disabling Handshaking in the Windows NT v3.1c Driver - Driver and FW Docs

How to Disable Hardware Handshaking in the Windows NT Driver (v3.1c)

This article describes how to manually disable hardware handshaking within the legacy Windows NT v3.1c touch driver from Elo — Now part of Zebra Technologies.

Important Support Notice: Windows NT is an obsolete operating system and is no longer supported by Microsoft or Elo Touch Solutions. This information is provided solely for legacy maintenance and historical reference.

Registry Modification Instructions

  1. Open the registry editor by running regedt32.

  2. Navigate to the following registry path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MonMouse\Touchscreen0\Parameters
    Note: There is a separate registry key for each installed touchscreen. If you have multiple touchscreens, you will need to repeat this process for Touchscreen1, Touchscreen2, etc.
  3. Locate and double-click the HardwareHandshaking key.
  4. Enter 0 as the value (corresponding to REG_DWORD 0x00) and click OK.
  5. Close the registry editor and restart the computer to apply the changes.
