Logitech MouseWare Patch for the Windows NT v3.1c Driver
This article describes how to resolve device conflicts by applying the Logitech MouseWare patch within the registry when using the Windows NT v3.1c driver from Elo — Now part of Zebra Technologies.

Critical Warning: Do not attempt to edit the Windows Registry unless you are thoroughly familiar with the
regedt32 utility. Making a mistake in the Registry Editor can cause severe system instability, potentially requiring you to reinstall the operating system.Logitech MouseWare Patch Registry Procedure
- Open the Start menu, select Run, type
regedt32, and click OK to open the Registry Editor. Navigate to the following registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Logitech\MouseWare\CurrentVersion\GlobalNote: Click on the Global folder key to display its values on the right-hand panel. If you do not see these keys, the Logitech MouseWare utility is not installed or conflicting on this system; you can safely closeregedt32.- On the right-hand side, locate and verify the
PortSearchOrdervalue. If the touchscreen's assigned COM port (e.g., COM1 or COM2) is listed in thePortSearchOrderstring, edit it using the following steps:- Double-click the
PortSearchOrderstring value to open the editor dialog box. - Highlight the specific text representing your touchscreen's assigned COM port.
- Delete the touchscreen's COM port text from the string value list.
- Double-click the

regedt32utility and restart the system to apply the changes.
