How to Keep Touch Active in Push-to-Talk Applications
This article details how to configure push-and-hold touch functionality within the Elo — Now part of Zebra Technologies Windows Multi-Touch driver, commonly required for push-to-talk (PTT) communication software.
Feature Availability: Starting with Elo Windows Multi-Touch driver version 7.2.1 and higher, when your Elo touch device is installed and configured as a digitizer (the default system installation configuration), you can utilize a persistent press-and-hold action.
Configuration Steps
To configure a button hold event without wiggling, shifting, or rolling your finger to maintain the press status, set your touch parameters as follows:
- Open the Elo touchscreen configuration utility.
- Navigate to the click settings and select Click on Release.
- Check the box to activate Enable Drag.
Prerequisite for Windows 7 & Windows 8.1: You must manually turn off the native Windows Flick gesture settings. If Flicks are left active, they will override this driver configuration and prevent the push-to-talk hold feature from functioning as intended.
