This article explains how to use a medical pcap monitor as a serial monitor using the vga to serial cable
On select medical desktop PCAP touch monitors, the ability to use a VGA to Serial Y-Cable for touch is possible.

Steps for Installing the Touch Driver
If the monitor is used with the Windows XP operating system or you want to use RS232 touch (touch via COM port), follow the steps below to install the touch driver.
1. Visit https://www.elotouch.com/support/downloads#/
2. Select the operating system from the Operating System drop-down menu.
3. Select the technology from the Technologies drop-down menu.
4. Download the driver version required for your touch monitor. (Driver version must be later than 7.0 for RS232 touch)

- NOTE: On RS232 touch, only two touches are capable at once.
