How to Install a Factory Operating System .ISO Image to Elo All-in-One Touchcomputers (EloPOS, I-Series, E-Series, etc.)

This procedure guides you through creating a bootable UEFI USB recovery drive and flashing the factory Operating System .ISO Image onto an Elo All-in-One (AiO) Touchcomputer.

While specifically authored for EloPOS® and I-Series for Windows platforms, this process applies to all current Intel®-based Elo AiO computing systems (including Elo X-Series, E-Series, and Backpack with Intel).

Required Hardware & Software

Phase 1: Create the Bootable UEFI Recovery USB Drive

1. Insert your 16GB+ USB flash drive into a host computer and launch Rufus.
2. Click SELECT and browse to your downloaded Elo factory .iso image file.

3. Configure the Rufus partition and target system parameters exactly as shown below:

   • Partition scheme: GPT
   • Target system: UEFI (non CSM)
   • File system: NTFS 
   

4. Click START to begin writing the image. The progress bar will track the extraction and creation of the recovery media:

   

5. Once Rufus displays READY, safely eject the USB flash drive from your computer.

Phase 2: Booting the Elo Touchcomputer from the Recovery Drive

6. Insert the prepared USB flash drive into an available USB port on the Elo AiO Touchcomputer.
7. Power on the system and repeatedly press Del (or F2 / F11 depending on model) to enter the BIOS Setup / Boot Menu.
8. Under the Boot menu, set the UEFI USB Flash Drive as the Boot Option #1 (or select it directly from the one-time boot menu), save changes, and restart.

Phase 3: Installing the Image via Elo OS Recovery Solution

9. Upon booting from the USB drive, the system will load the Elo OS Recovery Solution (UEFI Firmware) environment. Select the first option: Install Partition Recovery Solution:

   

10. Select Select Image:

    

11. Select Test Hardware to verify disk partition integrity and internal drive health:

    

12. Select Start to initiate the automated image deployment:

    

13. The utility will deploy the factory image across four automated phases (Partitioning, Writing System Image, Writing Recovery Partition, Verifying):

    

14. When the process finishes, a Success! confirmation box will appear:

    

    Click Close, physically remove the USB Flash Drive from the unit, and restart the computer.
