How to Install the Elo Pulse Touch (APR) Single-Touch Windows Driver

This article provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Elo Pulse Touch (Acoustic Pulse Recognition / APR) Single-Touch Driver for Windows.

Driver Compatibility & Requirements

• Operating Systems: Supported on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows 10.
• Interface: Pulse Touch technology functions exclusively via USB controllers (serial/RS-232 interface is not supported).
• Driver Package: Download the latest Single-Touch Driver package (Version 5.8.2) from the Elo Windows Drivers Portal.
• No Video Alignment Required: Pulse Touch monitors utilize factory acoustic calibration data; manual 3-point coordinate calibration is not required upon installation.

Step-by-Step Installation Procedure

1. Extract & Select Language: Run the self-extracting driver archive. When EloSetup launches, select your desired setup language and click Next.

   

2. Select Driver Component: Check the box for Install Pulse Touch Touchscreen Driver, then click Next. (Note: Serial touchscreen options are disabled for Pulse Touch devices.)

   

3. Accept License Agreement: Review the End-User License Agreement and click Yes to accept and continue.

   

4. File Copy & Controller Flashing: The setup wizard will copy files and program the onboard controller. This process may take up to 4 minutes—do not disconnect the USB cable during transfer. 

   

5. Complete Installation: When file copying completes, click Finish to close the installer.

   

Configuring Pulse Touch Properties in the Elo Control Panel

6. Open Control Panel: Click the Elo icon in the Windows System Tray (notification area) to open the Elo Touchscreen Control Panel.

   

7. View Properties: Connected Pulse Touch monitors will display their unique hardware profile under dedicated Properties tabs.

   

8. Set Usage Preferences: In the Properties tab, click Set Pulse Touch Preferences to select specific environment/usage modes (e.g., Point of Sale, General Office, or Custom Sensitivity), then click Apply.

   

9. Advanced Configuration: Click the Advanced button on the Properties tab to fine-tune edge compensation, drag sensitivity, and double-click timing.

   

10. Driver Information: Open the About tab to review package versions, controller firmware information, and diagnostics links.
