This article addresses an issue of not being able to scan the Elo serial number barcode label for inventory purposes.
Traditionally, barcode labels have been black codes on a white label; however, it is common practice now to use different colored barcodes to match different products.
Elo typically uses white codes on a black label for the serial numbers of our products. If you are having problems scanning the codes there are a couple of things you can do:
1. Reverse the image using editing software or settings/programming on your barcode scanner.
For example, some barcode scanners require programming to read reverse barcodes, such as the Zebra DSxx scanner, you simply scan their programming barcodes.
2. Use a barcode scanner that reads inverted or reverse barcodes, such as the Honeywell MS1690 Focus, Honeywell 4600g, Xenon 1900, Zebra DSxx scanners, etc.
Examples below of reversed barcode label (white on black) and non-reversed (black on white).
