This article covers Elo Service Reporting and EAPI
Starting with Elo Multi-Touch driver v7.0.0 and later, when installed on Windows 10 and later, installs Elo Service Reporting software and EAPI (Extended Application Programming Interface). This software helps to collect information about the Elo touch system. This is used by our software team to help to make improvements in future driver software updates. Service Reporting makes use of a common industry tool called OpenHardwareMonitor, which in turn uses a hardware access library called WinRing0.
You can opt out of Elo Service Reporting and EAPI by following the below two options:
Option 1 Do Not Install:
1. Download the Elo multi-touch driver
2. Double click the driver package.exe
3. Choose OK to run the WinZip Self-Extractor
4. Uncheck the box that says "When done unzipping open:" then click on Unzip
5. Go to the unzipped folder location (default location is C:Users\User Name\AppData\Local\Temp) If you changed the default unzip location, go to the location you unzipped the driver files to.
6. Go to the Common folder and open the EloOptions.ini file
7. In EloOptions.ini, under section [Setup Options], change the value of InstallServiceReportingClient to 0
8. Save changes
9. After saving changes, go back into the main driver folder and double click the Setup.exe to install the driver.
- The Elo Service Reporting and EAPI will not be installed.
Option 2 Uninstall After Driver Installation:
1. Go to Windows Add/Remove Programs and uninstall โElo Service Reportingโ
