This article provides information on Fingerprint Reader setup for Elo AIO with Windows 10

This technical bulletin describes how to install and setup the Crossmatch/Digital Persona Fingerprint Reader that is sold by Elo for our AIO Touch computers and touch monitors, Elo P/N: E001001. This procedure is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.

Software needed

UareUWin220_20121112.414.zip

Procedure

1.      After connecting the FPR to the AIO or Monitor, it will be listed as an “Unknown Device” in Windows Device Manager – this is normal, it will not be recognized until the software is installed.

2.      Unzip all the contents of UareUWin220_20121112.414.zip to a location on your computer.

3.      Open the release folder.

4.      Open the SDK folder.

5.      Choose the appropriate folder for your computer, either x64 or x32. The examples in this procedure will be for 64-bit computers.

6.      Double click the Setup.exe icon to begin installation.

7.      Choose Next to allow the software to install.

8.      Accept the license agreement and choose Next.

9.      Choose Next to allow the software to be installed in the default folder.

10.   Choose Install to begin installation or Back to go back and make changes.

11.   Software will begin installing. It only takes a minute or less to complete.

12.   When the software has completed installing you will be presented with the InstallShield Wizard Complete message. Choose Finish to complete the installation.

13.   Choose Yes to allow the computer to restart.

14.   After restarting, you will notice the FPR is now lit up (it may be red or blue).

a.      The Windows Device Manager will also be showing the FPR as a recognized Biometric Device.

15.   If you already have Fingerprint Reader software on your computer, you can stop at this point and integrate with it. If you want to test the FPR, continue following this procedure.

16.   Open the FingerprintDemo folder that is in the UareUWin220_20121112.414 folder.

17.   Choose the appropriate folder for your computer, either x64 or x32. The examples in this procedure will be for 64-bit computers.

18.   Double click the Setup.exe to begin the installation.

19.   Choose Next to begin the installation of the FingerPrintDemo.

20.   Accept the license agreement and choose Next to continue with installation.

21.   Choose Next to allow the software to be installed in the default folder.

22.   Choose Install to begin installation or Back to go back and make changes.

23.   Software will begin installing. It only takes a minute or less to complete.

24.   Choose Finish to launch the DigitalPersona Fingerprint Demo.

25.   Enter the name of your choice and select CONTINUE.

26.   Follow the prompts on the screen by touching the FPR four times to enroll. 

27.    Once you have touched the FPR four times and your fingerprints are recognized, you will receive a Congratulations, you have successfully enrolled! message. 

28.  Touch the FPR with your finger one last time and the process will be complete. Press Finish to exit.
