This article explains how to install and configure the Elo Fingerprint Reader (E001001) on Elo All-in-One (AIO) Touch Computers and Touch Monitors running Microsoft Windows.

The Elo Fingerprint Reader (E001001) uses the Crossmatch® / DigitalPersona® software package. These instructions apply to Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

Install the Fingerprint Reader Driver
- Connect the Fingerprint Reader to the Elo AIO or monitor.
- Open Windows Device Manager. The device will initially appear as an Unknown Device. This is expected until the driver is installed.
- Extract the contents of UareUWin220_20121112.414.zip to a local folder.
- Navigate to:
release → SDK → x64 (or x32 for 32-bit Windows). - Double-click Setup.exe.
- Follow the installation wizard:
- Select Next.
- Accept the license agreement.
- Accept the default installation folder.
- Select Install.
- When the installation completes, select Finish.
- Restart the computer when prompted.
- After Windows restarts:
- The Fingerprint Reader LED should illuminate (red or blue).
- Device Manager should list the device under Biometric Devices.

If you already use third-party fingerprint software, the reader is now ready for integration. You do not need to install the Fingerprint Demo application unless you wish to test the device.

Install the Fingerprint Demo Application (Optional)
- Open the FingerprintDemo folder included in the extracted software package.
- Open the appropriate folder for your operating system (x64 or x32).
- Double-click Setup.exe.
- Complete the installation wizard by accepting the default settings.
- Select Finish to launch the DigitalPersona Fingerprint Demo.
Enroll a Fingerprint
- Enter a user name and select Continue.
- Follow the on-screen instructions by placing the same finger on the reader four times.
- When enrollment is complete, the application displays:
"Congratulations, you have successfully enrolled!" - Touch the Fingerprint Reader one final time to verify enrollment, then select Finish.
