This article provides steps for installing Elo Fingerprint scanner, P/N: E134286
This Knowledge Article describes steps for installing the Elo Fingerprint Scanner, P/N: E134286, on an Elo Windows 10 AIO Touch Computer.
1. With Elo AIO turned off, remove the edge connect cover from the left or right side of the unit and connect the fingerprint scanner to the micro-usb port. Secure with the two provided phillips head screws. See the Quick Install Guide if you need more details for attaching the device to the touchcomputer.
2. Turn on AIO touchcomputer and allow it to fully startup. You may see a Windows message informing you that a Biometric Coprocessor is being set up. Allow it to complete the setup.
3. Go to the Windows Device Manager and find the Biometric Coprocessor, it should be listed under Other devices and will have a yellow exclamation mark on it.
a. Right mouse click on the Biometric Coprocessor and choose Update Driver from the General tab.
Note: you must have an active connection to the internet.
b. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software
c. Windows will begin searching for and installing the biometric coprocessor driver.
d. After Windows finishes installing the driver, choose Close.
e. The Device status should now state “The device is working properly,” you can now close the dialog box.
f. You will now see in Device Manager a new entry called Biometric devices and the TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor will be listed.
g. You have successfully completed the installation process for the Elo fingerprint scanner.
