This article explains if a push to talk app will work with Elo monitors
Some customers have the need to use an application that requires a constant press on the screen to keep the app active, such as in 911 centers or walkie-talkies when pressing a button to talk. This is sometimes referred to as a PTT application, or Push to Talk.
Always check your PTT application's touch settings and Operating Systems settings first before making modifications to the Elo touch driver settings.
Most Elo screens will operate PTT applications; however, adjustments may need to be made in the driver or setup. Please see below for more information.
PCAP & IR Products - Touch and Hold should natively work without any Elo touch drivers installed. However, in Windows, you may need to configure to prevent touch from timing out sustained touches, and prevent Windows from activating right-click on sustained touches:
1. Disable touch and hold in Windows
2. Install the Elo Multi-Touch driver in either of the following configurations
- FORCEMOUSE mode to prevent touch from timing out and preventing Windows from activating right click.
- In default Digitizer mode, but with “Click on Release” emulation and Enable Drag option checked (this PTT feature for Digitizer mode is enabled in v7.2.1 and later)
IntelliTouch Products - This technology has a 10-second untouch timeout built in. This is to prevent unwanted touches in cases of contaminants on the touchscreen. To increase this timeout you must install the latest Elo multi-touch driver and modify the Untouch Timeout settings in the Advanced Settings:
Untouch Timeout
A touch-up event will be generated if a touch-down has been longer than the specified time and the touch shift is within the specified distance.
Valid time: 1 to 300 seconds; default is 10 sec.
Valid distance: 0 to 10 millimeters (mm); default is 3 mm.

AccuTouch Products - This technology has a built in 10-second untouch timeout. For press and hold you should install the Elo Single-Touch driver and modify the Untouch Timeout settings in the "Mode" section of the driver. NOTE: Untouch timeout delay setting from 0 to 1200 seconds with the default being 10 seconds.
