This article explains that the Backpack 4 device has many mounting possibilities including "sandwich" mounting between a display and a stand
This example uses the following hardware:
- 1 x ET1302L touch monitor, Black Without Stand (Worldwide), P/N:E683595
- 1 x Backpack 4.0 Standard Model, P/N:E393359
- 1 x Pole Mount Floor Stand , P/N:E048069
- 4 x M4-0.7 x 35mm machine screws
Steps
1. Choose a stand or mount that will support your display. The Backpack 4 has both 75mm and 100mm VESA mounting options and can be used with any display which has one of those VESA mounting patterns.
- The Elo Pole Mount Floor Stand has the option to use either 75 or 100mm VESA mounting. In this example we utilize the 75mm VESA option.
2. Be sure and note the maximum screw depth allowed on your display.
- Example, the 1302L maximum screw depth is 7mm from the surface of the unit. The Backpack 4 device is 25.4mm thick and the VESA mounting plate on the pole stand is 2.5mm thick. Take these measurements in consideration when selecting the length of screws being used.
3. Place the Backpack 4 device between the back of the monitor and the mount, then insert screws through all three parts (Stand, Backpack 4, and Display).
- Optionally, if your VESA mount has cutouts for the top screws (as in our example) you can get the top two screws started on the Backpack and Display leaving enough threads to place into the VESA mount cutouts, see photos below.
4. Run cables through the cable route and make all connections.
- Note, if using a large pole stand (as in our example), it may be easiest to run any needed cables through the pole prior to mounting the devices.
