This article explains how to completely wipe the hard drive on an Elo Windows based computer
The below procedure steps you through completely wiping a hard drive on an Elo Windows based computer.
Create a bootable USB flash drive using the Rufus Utility
1. Flash drive should be at least 16GB or larger
2. Download ampe.iso
3. Download latest Rufus utility from here: https://rufus.ie/
4. Run Rufus and create the Bootable USB Flash Drive
b) Select DOWNLOAD in the drop-down arrow
c) Change Partition scheme to GPT
d) Target system should be UEFI (non CSM)
e) File system should be NTFS
f) Select Quick format
g) Select Create extended label and icon files
h) Choose Start to create the Bootable USB Flash Drive
j) When formatting is finished you will see READY in the Status bar. Select Close to close the utility
Hard Drive Wipe
1. Insert the newly formed bootable thumb drive into any available USB port
2. Power on the Elo Windows computer, after the Elo Splash screen appears, touch the BBS option in the top right corner
3. Next, with your keyboard, select the bootable thumb drive and press Enter
4. Once the program loads, select the AOMEI Partition program on the desktop.
5. Select “Wipe Hard Drive” on the left pane. The main hard drive should automatically be selected. Pay attention to which drive is selected.
6. Ensure that current drive is the correct one and that Fill sectors with Zero (Safe, Quick) is selected, Press the OK button.
7. Select Yes on the confirmation screen.
8. Now select Apply in the top left corner.
9. The Pending Operations screen will appear, at this point, select Proceed
10. Select Yes on the next confirmation pop-up screen to begin the process of wiping the hard drive
11. The wiping process will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Press OK to finish.
12. The newly wiped drive should read as Basic MBR with unallocated space
13. Now you can Shutdown the Elo Windows computer or restart the device, the process is complete.
