This article provides step-by-step instructions for formatting a USB flash drive and using an .iso image to image or re-image an Elo AIO or ECM system.
Part 1: Format the USB Flash Drive
- Insert a USB flash drive (16GB or larger) into a Windows computer.
- Open File Explorer and locate the USB drive.
- Right-click the USB drive and select Format.
- Configure the following:
- File system: NTFS
- Volume label: Set as desired (example: ECMG2_W10)
- Format option: Quick Format

Click Start.

When prompted that all data will be erased, click OK.

Once formatting is complete, click OK.
Part 2: Extract ISO to USB
- Locate the downloaded .iso file on your computer.

Right-click the .iso file.

Use an ISO utility (example: PowerISO) and select Extract to….

Select the formatted USB flash drive as the destination.

Wait for the extraction process to complete. This may take up to 30 minutes.
- Once complete, close the ISO utility and safely remove the USB flash drive.
Part 3: Boot Elo Device from USB
- Insert the USB flash drive into the Elo AIO or ECM system.
- Power on the system.
- When the Setup icon appears in the upper-right corner, tap it to enter BIOS.

Navigate to the BOOT section and set the USB drive as the #1 boot device.
- Go to the Exit tab and select Save Changes and Exit.

The system will reboot. When prompted, select OK to continue.
Part 4: Run Recovery Process

Select Install Recovery Solution.

Select Test Hardware.

After the test passes, click Start.

When prompted, select YES to confirm the recovery.
- The recovery process will begin. This may take 30 to 45 minutes.
Once complete, remove the USB flash drive. The system will be restored and ready for use.
