How do I use Power ISO to install an ISO file?

This article provides step-by-step instructions for formatting a USB flash drive and using an .iso image to image or re-image an Elo AIO or ECM system.

⚠️ Important: Formatting the USB drive will erase all data. Back up any important files before proceeding.

Part 1: Format the USB Flash Drive

  1. Insert a USB flash drive (16GB or larger) into a Windows computer.
  2. Open File Explorer and locate the USB drive.
  3. Right-click the USB drive and select Format.
  4. Configure the following:
    • File system: NTFS
    • Volume label: Set as desired (example: ECMG2_W10)
    • Format option: Quick Format

  5. Click Start.

  6. When prompted that all data will be erased, click OK.

  7. Once formatting is complete, click OK.

Part 2: Extract ISO to USB

  1. Locate the downloaded .iso file on your computer.

  2. Right-click the .iso file.

  3. Use an ISO utility (example: PowerISO) and select Extract to….

  4. Select the formatted USB flash drive as the destination.

  5. Wait for the extraction process to complete. This may take up to 30 minutes.

  6. Once complete, close the ISO utility and safely remove the USB flash drive.
⚠️ Note: Elo does not require a specific ISO tool. Any reliable extraction utility may be used.

Part 3: Boot Elo Device from USB

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into the Elo AIO or ECM system.
  2. Power on the system.
  3. When the Setup icon appears in the upper-right corner, tap it to enter BIOS.

  4. Navigate to the BOOT section and set the USB drive as the #1 boot device.

  5. Go to the Exit tab and select Save Changes and Exit.

  6. The system will reboot. When prompted, select OK to continue.

Part 4: Run Recovery Process

  1. Select Install Recovery Solution.

  2. Select Test Hardware.

  3. After the test passes, click Start.

  4. When prompted, select YES to confirm the recovery.

  5. The recovery process will begin. This may take 30 to 45 minutes.
⚠️ Important: Do not remove power or the USB drive during recovery. Interrupting the process may corrupt the system image.

Once complete, remove the USB flash drive. The system will be restored and ready for use.
