This article describes how to update Windows 10/11 LTSC Windows Update on Elo Intel computer based systems.
Overview
Microsoft releases Windows 10/11 LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) updates on a different schedule than regular Windows versions. LTSC receives only security updates and critical bug fixes monthly (such as KBXXXXXXX), without feature updates or new functionality. These updates enhance system security and stability on your Elo Intel-based computer systems running LTSC editions.
Installation Process
Receiving Updates
When a new security update becomes available for your LTSC system, you will receive a notification through Windows Update. LTSC systems do not receive feature updates automatically. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
- Click Download and install when prompted
- Allow the installation process to complete
Completing the Update
After installation finishes, Windows will notify you if a system restart is required. You can schedule the restart for a convenient time to minimize workflow disruption.

How to Remove Problematic Windows Updates
Sometimes Windows updates can cause compatibility issues with specialized hardware or software configurations. Since LTSC systems are designed for stability and minimal changes, removing problematic updates may be necessary to maintain system functionality.
How to Uninstall Windows Updates
- Open Control Panel: Type "Control Panel" in the Windows search bar and click "Open" when it appears in the results.
- Navigate to Programs: Click on "Programs" from the Control Panel menu.
- Access Update History: Select "View installed updates" from the Programs section.
- Select and Remove Update: Browse the list of installed updates, choose the specific Windows update you want to remove, and click "Uninstall."
- Confirm Removal: When prompted, click "Yes" to confirm that you want to uninstall the selected update.
⚠️ Important Notes for LTSC Systems:
- Always restart your computer after uninstalling updates
- Create a backup before removing updates
- LTSC systems receive only security updates - all updates are generally important for system security
- LTSC has a longer update uninstall window compared to regular Windows versions
- Windows may automatically reinstall security updates unless you temporarily pause updates
- LTSC systems do not receive cumulative feature updates, so individual security updates can typically be removed
- Consider the impact on your specialized hardware/software before removing security updates
