Why You’re Seeing a Windows 10 “End of Life” Message
Overview
Some users have recently reported seeing an “End of Support” or “End of Life” message on their Windows 10 devices. This message may appear even though the device is still running a supported version of Windows.
This issue appears to be related to a temporary Microsoft server or system error and does not indicate an actual end of support for your operating system.
Short Answer
You can safely ignore the message. It should disappear within a day or two as long as the device remains connected to the internet.
Details
Microsoft has not officially acknowledged this issue, though it is known to them. It may be caused by:
- A false flag within Windows itself, or
- A temporary issue with Microsoft’s update servers.
Customers who reported the issue confirmed that the message went away automatically within 24–48 hours once the device stayed online.
Even though the message suggests Windows 10 is no longer supported, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 remains fully supported by Microsoft until January 13, 2032.

- A window will appear showing your Windows edition, version, and OS build.

Edition: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC
Version: 21H2 (Build 19044.xxxx)
If your version matches Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (21H2) or newer, your device is still supported.
Summary
- Keep the device connected to the internet.
- Do not take action—the message should clear on its own.
- Microsoft will issue a fix if needed through Windows Update.
