This article details how to get an ELo 1002L to work with a USB-C cable
Some customer's with computers equipped with USB-C ports are not able to use USB-C only as the power, video, and data source on Elo USB-C equipped 1002L, 1302L, and 1502L monitors. Below is information that may help.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all computers with USB-C have the capability to deliver power, video, and data. You must check with your computer OEM to verify if the product you have is able to do this. Please refer to KB#000002416 for additional information.
If your computer is designed to deliver power, video, and data but you still are unable to get it to work, please see steps below.
1. Are you using the Elo recommended USB-C to USB-C Cable Kit โ Elo P/N: E710364? We cannot guarantee any other USB-C cable to work correctly. Please refer to KB#000003121
2. If using a Windows machine you may need to make a change in the System BIOS. If you are not using an Elo AIO computer system, you will have to contact the OEM of your device for appropriate steps to enter BIOS and changes that may need to be made. See below for how this is done in Elo products.
On the EloPOS the following changes must be made:
a. Enter system BIOS by tapping the SETUP icon in the upper right corner of the screen during startup.
- Alternatively you can connect an external USB keyboard and tap the DEL key during startup to enter the system BIOS.
b. In the system BIOS navigate to the Advanced -- USB Configuration -- USB Type-C Setting.
c. Change the setting to DP 4 Lanes + USB 2.0
d. Save changes and Exit
