The Elo 1004LS, 1304LS, and 1504LS touchscreen monitors are designed to use a single USB-C connection for power, video, and touch. Because these monitors do not have separate power, video, or USB touch connections, the computer's USB-C port must support all three functions for the monitor to operate correctly.

One USB-C Connection Performs Three Functions
On the 1004LS, 1304LS, and 1504LS, the USB-C connection replaces the separate cables and ports traditionally used for a touchscreen monitor. The computer must provide the following through the same USB-C connection:

Why Some USB-C Computers May Not Work
Depending on the computer, a USB-C port may support only some of the capabilities required by the monitor. For example:
- A data-only USB-C port will not provide the video and power required by the monitor.
- A USB-C port that provides power and data but does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode may power the monitor and allow USB communication, but no video image will be displayed.
- A USB-C port that does not provide sufficient power may result in the monitor not powering on or operating correctly.
Before connecting an Elo 1004LS, 1304LS, or 1504LS, check the computer manufacturer's specifications to confirm that the USB-C port supports video output, power delivery/output, and USB data.
The USB-C Cable Is Also Important
The USB-C cable must also support power, video, and data. Some USB-C cables are intended primarily for charging or basic data transfer and may not support video.
For best results, use the USB-C cable supplied or recommended by Elo. If a third-party cable is used, verify that it is a full-featured USB-C cable capable of carrying power, DisplayPort video, and USB data.
Can HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-A Be Used Instead?
The 1004LS, 1304LS, and 1504LS do not have separate HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-A touch, or DC power connections. Therefore, a standard HDMI-to-USB-C, DisplayPort-to-USB-C, or USB-A-to-USB-C adapter cannot by itself provide all three functions required by the monitor.
Any adapter, docking station, or host device used with these monitors must provide video, sufficient power, and USB data through the USB-C connection presented to the monitor.

For an Elo 1004LS, 1304LS, or 1504LS touchscreen monitor to function correctly, both the computer's USB-C port and the USB-C cable must support:

- DisplayPort video
