This article explains how to obtain the VID/PID of an Elo Touch Controller in Windows
To find the Vendor ID (VID) and Product ID (PID) on an Elo touch controller in Windows, follow the below steps.
Steps to find VID/PID
1. Open Windows Device Manager, below are the two most common methods for opening Device Manager:
Method #1
- Use Run: Press Windows + R keys together to open Run window. Type devmgmt.msc in the Run box, and hit Enter to open Device Manager.
Method #2
- Use Windows Search: Click in the Windows Search Box and type in "device manager" then choose it from the results.
2. Look under the Human Interface Devices section for HID-compliant touch screen (If an Elo driver has been installed, it may be called Elo Touch Screen).
3. Right-Click on Hid-compliant touch screen and choose Properties
4. Go to the Details tab and scroll down and click on Hardware IDs
5. The VID/PID will be displayed.
6. You can pull up the Elo VID/PID chart to see which controller you have. In the above example (03EB / 8A6E) it would be an Atmel controller, see chart below:
- Alternatively, you can also use a 3rd party VID/PID lookup: https://the-sz.com/products/usbid/
