Creating a Recovery Flash Drive for the Elo Backpack® with Intel.
This article explains how to create a recovery flash drive using the built-in Elo Restore Utility on Windows-based Elo systems.
All Windows models include the Elo Restore Utility on the Windows Desktop. This utility allows you to create a recovery flash drive that matches the operating system originally shipped with your system.
Important: Create the recovery flash drive immediately. If the internal HDD or SSD recovery partition is deleted or becomes inaccessible, the recovery flash drive will be required to restore the system.
Recovery Flash Drive Creation Procedure
- Insert a blank USB flash drive into an available USB port on the system.
- On the Windows Desktop, right-click the EloRestoreUtility icon and select Run as administrator.
- Select the target USB drive and click the Start button to begin the process.
- Click Continue to proceed.
This process may take 10 to 20 minutes depending on system configuration and USB flash drive performance. Warning: All data on the USB flash drive will be permanently deleted.
- When the message displays “USB Stick complete with…”, remove the USB flash drive and click Close to exit the utility.
- If the system becomes unbootable, insert the recovery flash drive, power on the system, and press F11 repeatedly to enter the Device Boot Menu. Select the option to boot from the USB flash drive.
- When the recovery user interface appears, select Deploy Windows OS image (with Recovery Partition).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process, then exit the program.
Important Notes
- All data is deleted during the recovery process.
- The user is responsible for backing up files before performing recovery.
- Elo Touch Solutions does not accept responsibility for lost data or software.
- The end user must comply with Microsoft’s licensing terms and agreements.
