This article provides instructions for replacing the solid-state drive (SSD) in an Elo Backpack® with Intel processor.

SSD Replacement Procedure
- Place the Elo Backpack with Intel on a clean, protected work surface.
- Remove the power brick retaining screw, then remove the power brick.
- If surface mount brackets are installed, remove the four mounting screws and detach the brackets.
- Using a Phillips PH1 screwdriver, remove the fifteen (15) screws securing the chassis.
- Carefully separate the top cover from the bottom chassis.
The metal cover may adhere slightly to the enclosure. If necessary, use a plastic pry tool to gently begin separating the cover before lifting it away by hand.
Take care not to damage the RTC battery connector or its wiring. - Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the SSD retaining screw.
- Carefully slide the SSD out of the M.2 connector.
- Install a supported replacement SSD, secure it with the retaining screw, and reassemble the Backpack by reversing the disassembly steps.

Use only supported M.2 PCIe (NVMe) SSDs. Installing unsupported storage devices may result in reduced performance or compatibility issues.

Note: GB equals one billion bytes when referring to storage capacity. User-accessible capacity is less due to formatting and system software.
