This article provides steps to replace the RTC battery in an Elo Backpack® with Intel
RTC Battery Replacement — Elo Backpack® with Intel
Place the Elo Backpack with Intel on a clean, protective surface.
Remove the power brick retaining screw, then remove the power brick.
If surface mount brackets are installed, remove the four screws and detach the brackets.
Using a PH1 screwdriver, remove all 15 screws from the Backpack chassis.
Carefully lift the top cover from the bottom of the unit. The metal cover may stick. If needed, use a plastic prying tool to gently start separation, then lift the cover off by hand. Take care not to damage the RTC battery connector leads.
Disconnect the RTC battery connector from the system board.
Peel back the black cloth tape securing the RTC battery and remove the battery from the housing.
Install the same model high temperature RTC battery, CR2450W coin manganese dioxide lithium battery.
