The below steps describe how to check the Windows version and build number on Microsoft Operating Systems.

1. Click on the Windows Start button in the lower left corner of the task bar

2. Type in winver and press the Enter key on the keyboard (or you can click on the winver icon that appears in the Best Match list).



3. You will see your windows build version and OS build number as in screenshot below.
