How to Configure Full-Screen Kiosk Mode Using Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) on Windows 10 LTSB/LTSC

Elo Windows All-in-One (AiO) touchcomputers and POS systems frequently ship with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB / LTSC. Because early LTSC builds do not include the consumer Microsoft Store or native Universal Windows Platform (UWP) Edge kiosk provisioning, systems utilize Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) for locked-down web browsing.

Step-by-Step IE11 Kiosk Shortcut Setup

1. Locate Internet Explorer Executable:
   Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to:

   C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

2. Create Desktop Shortcut:
   Right-click on iexplore.exe and select Create shortcut:

   

   When Windows displays the prompt: "Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?", click Yes:

   

3. Rename Shortcut (Optional):
   Go to your Desktop, right-click the new shortcut, select Rename, and enter your preferred name (e.g., EloWeb): 

   

4. Configure Kiosk Target Parameters:
   Right-click the shortcut and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, modify the Target field by adding the -k switch followed by your target URL:

   "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -k https://elotouch.com

   (Note: Keep the quotation marks around the path, followed by a space, -k, another space, and your website domain.)

   

5. Apply and Launch:
   Click Apply, then click OK. Launching the shortcut will now open Internet Explorer in borderless, full-screen Kiosk mode:
