This article explains how to upgrade the Windows build version on an Elo AIO device
Elo touch computers equipped with Windows 10 are provided with an OEM-licensed version of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB or LTSC. These Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) and Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) operating systems are designed as "fixed" systems, meaning they do not support traditional version upgrades.
Example 1: Systems running Windows 10 LTSB with build version 1607 cannot be upgraded to a later build, such as 1803 or newer. These systems will remain on version 1607 for the entire lifecycle of the product.
Example 2: Similarly, Windows 10 LTSC systems with build version 1803 are not upgradable to subsequent builds like 1809 or beyond. Like LTSB versions, LTSC systems are locked to the original build version throughout their lifespan.
If your needs require a more recent Windows version than what is pre-installed on your system, you will need to purchase a new copy of Windows from Microsoft, which will come with its own separate license. The existing Elo OEM license does not permit upgrading the operating system, as this is a restriction imposed by Microsoft.
